Pastor John Kinyon was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and became a Christian at the age of 15 through the influence of Young Life and his best friend. A graduate of Cornell University and Vanderbilt Law School, John was employed as a Wall Street banker and an attorney while ministering in the collegiate and community-based ministries of The Navigators and Campus Crusade for Christ, before heeding God's call to full-time church ministry. Upon graduation from Reformed Theological Seminary in 1994, John and his family moved to the Island of Oahu where they planted a multi-ethnic evangelical church for the Presbyterian Church in America. While in Hawaii, John also taught theology and church history and served as Dean of Undergraduates at International College and Graduate School--Hawaii's only accredited bible college and seminary. Pastor John, Claire (his wife of 23 years), and their five boys moved back to Pennsylvania to plant Cornerstone Presbyterian Church: one of the Lehigh Valley's newest evangelical church! Mike and Judy are currently serving the PCA as church planters in Easton, PA. They had previously been a part of New Life Church since 1998 where Mike served as associate pastor. Their hometown was Perkasie, PA - a small town about 30 minutes south of Easton/Coopersburg. Mike graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1998 and began working as an associate pastor at New Life Dresher for the next 10 years. Judy taught for the Philadelphia School District for more than 10 years before homeschooling our sons and the birth of our daughter. Judy and Mike have two sons – John and Rachyeed – who are 18 and 19 years of age and who came to live with the Hollenbach’s when they were 8 and 9. They also have a daughter – Kaira – who is 4 years of age and a newly adopted daughter Talia who is 2 years old.
It was not until Mike was 25 when Jesus became the center and focus of his life. Concerning his time serving New Life, Mike says, "It is here, in this community, where the gospel became real, tangible and relevant to my everyday life. This church is my family. They are my friends. And it is here where I can really open up and be honest about my life. When that happens the gospel breaks in with power to really change us."
Mike is very competitive and loves to play sports (especially with his sons). He enjoys especially both bluegrass and folk music. He can think of nothing more relaxing than a hike by a stream, a swim in a waterfall or a weekend camping trip.
