What day does the weke start?

Sunday or Monday

make that "week" sorry

I'm going to have to go with Sunday for a couple reasons.

1) The song "Rising Like the Morning Sun" wouldn't sound as cool if the first line was "On the last day of the week" instead of "On the first day of the week"

2) Sunday being the first day of the week gives you a much better picture of what work and rest should be all about. I didn't coin the phrase, but it sums it up perfectly. Resting from work won't cut it. You need to work from rest. I'm not always good at doing this myself. Although, suprisingly to me, it has been easier to view Sunday as the fresh start to my week now as I am working six days a week. Hopefully I can hang onto this mentality as Sunday goes back to being also the second day in my weekend.

I am also going to go with Sunday.

My reasoning: Jewish Sabbath was from Friday at sundown to Saturday at sundown. This was a time for them to honor God's rest in creation (among other things).

Hmmm, could you explain your reasoning a little more, Nate? I'm not sure I get it.

Ok.

Sabbath was the day of rest, signifying and honoring the day that the Trinity rested from their creation work. That day of rest fell on, as we know, the seventh day.

The Jewish Sabbath rest begins Friday sundown (6th day) and ends Saturday sundown (7th day), leaving Sunday as the first day of the week.

In my opinion.

So....should we worship on Saturday?

Good question, John.

I can't fully answer that question, although I do know that there have been major debates historically surrounding this question and that certain people believed so strongly that we ought to worship on Saturday that they literally killed Sunday worshipping Christians.

My response: The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. -Jesus-
